What is requisite?

A la merriam-webster.com:

req·ui·site adj
1. essential, necessary

It's an old word, derived from the Latin requisitus sometime in the 15th century. There's a bit of elegance as it rolls off the tongue, but it's common enough. It's not a word that makes you pause.

It's the little things that are usually taken for granted. A strand of spun fiber. An easy meal. Only when they are taken away do we realize their necessity.
